MY LIFE STORY
The Road I Never Planned
I was adopted shortly after birth, lost at sea at nineteen, survived an accident that left me with 44 facial fractures, built a life across countries, discovered a family I never knew—and learned that survival is only the beginning of the story.
Some chapters have already been told. Others are still waiting for the right moment.
Beginnings
I was born in Nassau, Bahamas, in 1972 and adopted shortly after birth.
By twelve, life had already taught me about work, loss and growing up sooner than expected.
I carried questions about identity and belonging for years—questions I did not yet know would eventually lead me somewhere extraordinary.
1991
At nineteen, I spent nearly fourteen hours lost at sea.
Lost at sea.
No boat.
No land.
Night approaching.
I survived—but some of what happened during those hours belongs to a much larger story.
Work, opportunity and determination eventually carried me beyond the Bahamas and into countries, businesses and rooms I once could not have imagined entering.
There were accomplishments.
There were failures.
And there were moments when almost everything I had built came close to disappearing.
2001
In Santo Domingo, a car accident left me with 44 facial fractures.
It was the kind of moment that divides life into before and after.
I survived. But the complete story of what happened—and what followed—has not yet been told.
Fatherhood, Love & Loss
I became a husband, entrepreneur and father of eight.
Fatherhood brought some of the greatest love of my life—and some of its deepest lessons.
There were moments of joy, regret, loss, survival and second chances.
Some of those chapters have become songs.
Others remain private for now.
NOVEMBER 19, 2018
A DNA test began answering questions I had carried since childhood.
The results revealed a biological father who had never known I existed—and a family I had never known was out there.
In October 2019, I walked into a room in Canada filled with people I had never met.
For most of my life, I had wondered where I came from.
Now I was looking at part of the answer.
But finding a family more than four decades later was not the end of the story.
It was the beginning of another chapter.
A child searching for where he came from.
A young man fighting the ocean.
A father learning the true cost of love.
A businessman rising, falling and beginning again.
A son discovering the father who never knew him.
A brother finding a family more than four decades late.
A man after fifty realizing that his story was not ending.
It was finally asking to be told.
There are chapters of my life that even people close to me have never heard.
I am now writing the full story—the experiences, choices, mistakes, losses, relationships and unexpected turns that shaped the man I became.
The story is being developed with a future book in mind and the possibility that one day it may also become a film.
For now, this page is only the beginning.
The road wasn't straight.
It wasn't easy.
And it certainly wasn't planned.
But it was mine.
MY LIFE IN SONGS
Some chapters became songs.
There are parts of my story that ordinary words could never fully carry. So I put them into music—fatherhood, family, love, loss, faith, survival, forgiveness and the questions that stayed with me for years.
These are not songs about a life I imagined.
They are glimpses of the one I lived.
THE STORY IS STILL BEING WRITTEN
Follow the journey as selected chapters unfold through stories, music and reflections from the road.
A Spanish-language version of My Story is coming soon.
